	Editing a Report Template

As the number of templates in your template set grows you will want to rename, export or delete some of them. To do this go to the template tab of the explorer. Select the template the you want to manage and right click to bring up the context menu.

The indicated items are for template management. The others are for running a report in the various supported formats.

Delete

This will delete the selected template.

Duplicate

This creates a copy of the report. The copy will be called "Copy of ..."

Copy and Neutralize

This copies the report and removes the links to the root and data fields from the copy. The copy can then be linked to a different root while maintaining the structure.

Name

Click here to type a new name.

Description

You can enter a short description for the template, that makes it easier to select a report.

Doku file

Here you can enter the URL of an html file which provides detailed documentation for the report. The documentation will be displayed when the user is asked for variables, and it can be looked up from the run window.

Data Entry Point

The root of the report. Not editable, just for reference.

Exporting Reports

If you want to copy reports from one template set to another, then you export them into a file, that can be imported into another template set.

Note: The schema of the exporting and the importing template set must be compatible. If they are not identical, ReportWeaver will automatically evolve the imported reports to the new schema.

To export, select export templates... from the file menu. This pops up the export wizard:

Importing Reports

To import, select import templates... from the file menu. This pops up the file chooser, were you can select the file to import.

Note:If the imported templates use named styles which already exist in the importing template set, then the imported styles will be overridden by the existing styles. Named styles that do not exist in the importing template set, will be added.

Exporting/Importing Styles

To export, select export styles... from the file menu. This pops up the file chooser to select a file were all named styles will be stored.

To import, select import styles... from the file menu. This pops up the file chooser, were you can select the file to import. In this case imported named styles will override existing styles.
