The main tool bar contains the most frequently used commands for template
editing.
- Formatting Tool Bar
The formatting tool bar gives quick access to the text format settings of the
current cell.
- Explore Panel
The explore panel contains five tabs, that allow you to navigate to the
contents of your template set.
- Property Panel
The property panel shows the properties of the selected element in the explorer
panel or in the editor.
- Short messages:
Keeps you informed about the effect of your actions.
- Template List
Contains all the templates that you have already designed. Use the context menu
on any of the entries to edit/run/delete the entry.
- Data Entry Point List:
This shows all entry points into your database. These can be roots, relational
tables, or extents. Use it to create
new templates
or
views.
- Types List:
It lists all types with their derived views in your repository. Use it for
reference or to create a view for a type.
- Style Selector:
This shows all your named styles. Select an element in the editor pane and
click on a style to activate it. If you have an element (cell, table, frame,
page) selected in the editor, the style will be applied to that element. In any
case it will be loaded into the property panel for editing.
- Fields List
- Editor Panel:
Here the current template page is displayed for editing. The buttons in the
tool bar operate on this template.
- The Table Indicator:
The green rounded rectangle indicates a table template. The data fields in the
lower half of the table template become the columns of the table when the
report is run.
Creating a table. If tables are
nested then nested table indicators will show the
structure. Double click into one of the tables' data cells to select the table
and load the table properties into the property panel.
- The Frame Indicator:
The grey square marks the top left corner of a
frame.
The frame itself is marked with grey border lines. To select a frame click into
the page margin to the left or right of a frame.
- Margin Indicators:
The grey lines extending to the edge of the page indicate the
page margins of headers, footers and body
areas.

- The Current Selection.
The selection is indicated by a blue rectangle. If you select a frame, the line
of the rectangle will be dashed.
